In depth look at the 4 mark contrast/ similar questions I used lots of documents off the AQA website to support ie: the teachers guide/ keywords etc. You may need to download these to support the lessons yourself. These lessons could be adapted to any topic you teach.

Outcomes: To describe why Muslims choose to get married To explain what happens in a Muslim marriage ceremony and how it reflects the values of marriage This lesson comes with an information sheet and students can use page 62 of the OXFORD textbook to design a leaflet that looks at the purpose of marriage.

This lesson looks at divorce and remarraige in Islam and then ends with a 12 mark question for students to complete that asks students to consider the Christian attitudes explored in the previous lesson. The lesson comes complete with worksheets to support the teaching of this topic

Lesson outcomes: To know what Muslims believe the purpose of the family is. To explain Muslim attitudes to different types of family. To evaluate Mohammad’s teachings about the family The lesson is fully resourced and can be used alongside the OXFORD textbook. Students are encouraged to create an advice leaflet (template on the powerpoint) about the importance of family in Islam. The lesson also addresses the importance of the family supporting the Ummah in Islam. This lesson ends with students using their knowledge to write a 5 mark answer with peer assessment guidance and model answers.

Should: Explain the differences between worship in different Christian groups. Could: Evaluate why some Christians prefer liturgical/ non-liturgical/ group/ individual worship

This lesson looks at the nature and importance of prayer with a variety of independent activities/ discussion points and exam practice (complete with model answers etc.) Outcomes: Must: Define what a prayer is Should: Explain the reasons Christians play using examples and keywords Could: Evaluate what the Lords prayer teaches about the importance of prayer and the nature of God

Two lessons that look at the meaning and purpose behind Holy Communion. The first lesson comes with worksheets - discussion activities etc. The second lesson is a research lesson whereby students look up the different services between the denominations. It supports the OXFORD textbook Outcomes: Must: describe what Holy Communion is Should: Link it to the last supper and explain why it happens. Could: Compare different Christian beliefs about Holy Communion

REVISION LESSON Activities that can be used alongside the OXFORD textbook that allow students to gather the key information for Christian and Muslim beliefs attitudes to: Origins of the uni Stewardship Pollution Etc. The lesson ends with a mini 12 minute exam practice test with a mark scheme There’s a host of activities that can be printed on the PPT ie. worksheets etc.

This lesson supports page 56-57 of the textbook. Students are encouraged to create a factfile about the growth of the church. The internet could be used to supplement this lesson. The lesson starts with a discussion activity and has key info about CFAN along with a video clip Outcomes: Must: Identify facts about the growth and decline of Christianity Should: Explain what the CfaN is and what they do. Could: Suggest reasons for the growth and decline of the church.
